The National AIDS Commission of Liberia was established by an act of the Legislature in 2010 to coordinate and manage a multi-sectoral, decentralized response to HIV and AIDS. The Commission’s role and functions includes advocating for the development of policies and legislation; mobilizing resources for the national response; mainstream HIV and AIDS activities into line ministries and other sectors and ensuring the development of a monitoring and evaluation system for the national HIV and AIDS response. The National AIDS Commission Act prescribes for the establishment of a Secretariat of the Commission headed by an Executive Director. The day to day affairs of the Commission under the direct supervision of the Executive Director is operated by the NAC Secretariat. The organization currently seeks qualified Liberians for the position of Driver. The Driver post reports to the Administrator while the Executive Director of the Commission has approval review of this position, before and after the recruitment processes. The driver position is to support all components of the Commission through the NAC Secretariat for smooth operations of the Commission.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Ensure that assigned vehicle is kept clean at all times and road worthy • Check vehicle condition / requirement properly and maintain a vehicle log at all times • Ensure proper maintenance and servicing of the assigned vehicle takes place on a day to day basis and is reported to the supervisor on time • Drive office vehicle for transportation of authorized personnel and timely delivery / collection of pouches and other items • Make field trips in or out of Monrovia • Prepare monthly summary of oil and fuel consumption and report to supervisor • Report any and all problems with vehicle to administrator immediately • Run errands as may be assigned from time to time • Perform any other duties as may be assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Valid driver’s license • 3 years relative work experience • Excellent communication skills, including inter-personal • High School Diploma or equivalent vocational skills • Females are encouraged to apply.

Executive Secretary

The Commission’s role and functions includes advocating for the development of policies and legislation; mobilizing resources for the national response; mainstream HIV and AIDS activities into line ministries and other sectors and ensuring the development of a monitoring and evaluation system for the national HIV and AIDS response. The National AIDS Commission Act prescribes for the establishment of a Secretariat of the Commission headed by an Executive Director. The day to day affairs of the Commission under the direct supervision of the Executive Director is operated by the NAC Secretariat. The organization currently seeks qualified Liberians for the position of Executive Secretary. The Commission is recruiting a fixed term, local Executive Secretary to support the works of the NAC’s Secretariat. The Executive Secretary reports to the Executive Director of the National AIDS Commission. The Executive Secretary is responsible for carrying out secretarial functions of the Secretariat. The Executive Secretary works in the office of the Executive Director to ensure proper office organization and management of all documents and files of the Secretariat, and works with other staff to support secretarial services as detailed below.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible for secretarial support to the commission • Organize a filling system for systematic filling retrieval of documents and correspondences • Take minutes during regular and Executive Committee meetings and read same during subsequent meetings • Draft correspondences / communications as directed • Assist with preparation of Annual and other Program reports • Ensure immediate filling of documents and correspondence • Serve as receptionist for the office of the Executive Director, receiving and directing visitors with appropriate courtesies • Assist in the procurement of stationary and supplies • Ensure that Executive Director’s office is tidy at all times • Assist the Secretariat in making arrangements and logistics for meetings, workshops and trainings • Perform any other duties as may be assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
An Associates Degree or equivalent from a recognized institution and secretarial training certificate are required for this position • A minimum of three years of professional experience is required, preferably working in development related programs and with NGO and or private sector or religious organization • Managerial skills that include understanding how to organize and prioritize work and assignments • Essential emotional intelligence skills demonstrated by the capacity to work with other staff and treat all partners of the Commission with respect • Essential business writing skills • Computer literate and able to use MS Office Software (Word, Excel, Power Point, etc) • Communication skills with ability to speak, write, and understand the English language • Ability to communicate clearly and persuade others • Presentation skills and use of power point • Fluency in other languages an added advantage.
